Find emails in junk folder
Description
This guide aims to help you find emails that have been deemed as phishing and move them to your inbox.
Here is how to find and take action on them:
Overview
Background
Why do emails end up in “spam” or “junk”?:
Email is an integral part of online communication and has been for several decades now.
Due to the importance of email, it has also become synonymous with spam and malicious emails.
To combat this issue different kinds of email authentication have been put in place.
For most private users, this will never be an issue. For instance, if you have a private Gmail address Google will take care of this authentication.
However, if you use a custom domain for your company this email authentication has to be handled by the domain owner.
If this configuration has not been done or done incorrectly emails will be regarded as spam or phishing.
Many companies use a third-party service for their newsletters and customer contact addresses.
These are sometimes not configured to also use this email authentication and will therefore be regarded as spam.
